City of Jyväskylä Social and Health Services are in charge of student health services at JAMK. Student health services are available to all students from Monday to Friday, irrespective of where they come from. Student health services include health care (health examinations, vaccinations, birth control, etc.), medical care, mental health care, and monitoring of the health conditions of the study environment. The work is carried out by a public health nurse and a doctor.

Acute Illness or Accident and First Aid

Please contact your closest Health Centre in case of acute illness or accident.

  • Doctor's appointment during the week at your local health centre and student's health service 20.60 €/visit (first three times a calendar year, after that you can visit a doctor for free of charge).
  • First aid during the week at 8-20 at your local health centre, 20.60 €/visit
  • First aid during the week at 20-8, on weekends and on holidays 41.20 € at the Central Hospital of Central Finland, Keskussairaalantie 19,

Oral Health Care

Students registered in Jyväskylä are entitled to dental care in their closest dental clinic. During their studies, also students based in other municipalities have the right to a single oral health check where the need for oral health consultation and services is determined.

All students despite their place of domicile are provided urgent dental care (e.g. for toothache, tooth accident or inflamed wisdom tooth).

Dental care at municipal health centres is subject to statutory fees. Penalty fee for no-show appointment is 50.80 €.
