There are no specific degree-related or statutory qualification requirements in the field.
Targeted competence
Intended learning outcomes are a statement of what a student will know and be able to do as result of the learning process.. In case of IB the programme level intended learning outcomes are divided into categories of Knowledge and Understanding, Intellectual Skills, Practical Skills and Transferable Skills.
Knowledge and understanding
- employ theoretical and conceptual knowledge to identify and analyze business problems in global contexts
- identify and place into practice information-based decision making approaches to business and managerial problems.
Practical Skills: Intercultural Competency
- apply proven theoretical and conceptual knowledge of global business challenges in multicultural contexts

Intellectual skills: Information Management in Business
- gather, analyse and evaluate business data and information and transform empirical data into useful and actionable information

Transferable Skills: Intercultural Communication in Business
- communicate effectively in English in oral, written and electronic formats using communication and information technology for business applications, and is able to prepare and present reports
- exercise initiative and take personal responsibility for one´s own work in terms of timelines, professional behaviour, personal motivation and planning skills.
Degree profile
After first year basic studies a student may choose more professionally focused studies and academic tracks from a number of alternatives in the second academic year at JAMK. A student will also complete the bachelor's thesis in the second academic year. While on exchange in the third year of studies a student can choose specialisations at our international partner institutions on every continent.
Students will also work on company projects and complete their practical training to achieving their personal goals.

Structure and completion of studies
In semester 1 - 4 (Year 1 and 2) students will complete required business studies, as well as their bachelor's thesis in their selected academic track. Semesters 5 - 7 are intended for individual specialisation: exchange abroad, specialisation studies and practical training.

In addition, students may complete a part of their studies in the shared entrepreneurship development environment for the entire JAMK, or by participating in the labs of the Future Factory operation model. The focus of these studies is on deepening innovation and development competence.

Graduation
Being awarded a Bachelor’s degree certificate requires the student to complete the studies of the degree programme within his/her study period in accordance with his/her Personal Learning Plan. Further information in the Degree Regulations.

Further studies
University of Applied Sciences offers various opportunities for studying and learning throughout one's career. These include Master's Degree studies, specialisation studies, diplomas of higher education, the extensive range of courses offered through open studies and continuing education.
The student who has graduated with a Bachelor's degree may continue his/her studies in a Master's degree programme after gaining at least three years of work experience. A Master's degree from a university of applied sciences is a higher post-secondary degree. Studies can also be continued by applying for a university Master's degree programme or similar programmes. After a Bachelor's degree from a university of applied sciences, it is also possible to continue studies at higher education institutes abroad in Master's degree level programmes.
A student who completes a Master's degree may receive an opportunity for further studies in science or arts at universities (Section 37/558/2009). All further studies must be applied for separately.
Planning
JAMK School of Business' Professional Advisory Board and International Academic Board share their input in the curricula planning process. School's Adacemic Board is also one vital stakeholder in this process. The results of alumni surveys and student feedback are considered in the planning of the implementation of teaching.
